Dr. Ifie Sekibo, who has served the bank for 10 years, has announced his retirement, and Heritage Bank Plc has appointed Akinola George-Taylor as its acting managing director.
The Board of Directors of Heritage Bank and the Central Bank of Nigeria each approved the appointment of two new executive directors, which Heritage Bank also confirmed in a statement.
With immediate effect, a new acting managing director would be in charge of all banking activities in Nigeria
Akinola George-Taylor is a seasoned banker with more than two decades of experience working in the banking and financial services sector. George-Taylor has a demonstrated track record in managing operations worth many billions of Naira. He began his banking career with GTBank in 1993, where he worked his way up to Executive Director in charge of the Public Sector Group in Abuja and the North Central region. He has held a variety of jobs while working for the Bank in several industry sectors. Between 2005 and 2009, he served as the managing director of GTBank in Sierra Leone.
Additionally announced were George Oko-Oboh and Osepiribo Ben-Willie’s appointments as Executive Directors.
Osepiribo Ben-Willie is a skilled banker with over two decades of expertise, and throughout that time, she has been in charge of numerous business transformation initiatives in the financial services industry. Ben-Willie is the South-South, South-East, & Private Wealth Management Team Directorate Head at the moment for Heritage Bank Plc. She has experience working with Credite Bank Nigeria Limited, Diamond Bank, Zenith Bank, and Stanbic IBTC, among other banks.
At the moment, George Oko-Oboh is in charge of Heritage Bank Plc’s Abuja and North Directorate Business, where he plays a crucial part in the daily operations of all businesses and transactions that fall within his purview. Oko-Oboh is a skilled financial services executive with more than 20 years of banking experience who has held numerous top-level positions spanning.
Oko-Oboh is a seasoned financial services expert with more than 20 years of banking experience. She has worked in a number of top positions in the retail, small and medium-sized business, commercial, public sector, collections, funding advisory, and corporate negotiations sectors.
